Adding bleed and crop marks to supplied PDF
I have been supplied several PDFs by a client to run out and mock up. However, there are no crop marks on the document. How do I add bleed to the PDFs, therefore enabling me to add crop marks? Unfortunately, getting the documents resupplied with crops is not an option - already tried that!

Re: Adding bleed and crop marks to supplied PDF
Acrobat 8 Professional can be used to to add additional size to the page and apply the printer's marks. Acrobat 7 Professional can add the marks, but it doesn't have the "enlarge page" feature as well.

Re: Adding bleed and crop marks to supplied PDF
Unless I misunderstand the problem, I've used the custom page size in the Crop Pages custom page size option to enlarge pages in Acrobat 7 Pro. If I recall, you need to add the crop marks first (you won't see them yet), then increase the art box page size.

Re: Adding bleed and crop marks to supplied PDF
If you increase the paper size first and ensure you edit the trim/bleed
values accordingly, the printer marks are then correctly appended to the
page ... it's a little fiddly but does work ...
I've found it's best to:
1. enlarge the paper size first (select OK)
2. change the trim/bleed values (select OK)
3. add printer marks

Re: Adding bleed and crop marks to supplied PDF
Its probably a bit late now. But you can add trim marks in Acrobat 8 Pro by adding Header and Footer's. Its under the Documents tab. You'll need to increase your document size first (if its already at the trim size). Just drag the crop marks larger than the document size.
Cheers
