    Default Adding record

I have a database the I add a new candidate in and as you're adding the
information for the candidate other boxes pop up to add deatils (personal
info, employment, education etc). When the employment window pops up a drop
down list of the companies available shows up (which pull from the company
database) and you can choose one of the companies as employment. The only
problem with it is that you can add a new company from there. you would
have to minimize the window go over to the companies database add a new
recrod and then come back find the candidate again and up date the info.
Works alright, but not as quick entry as I would like.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Default Re: Adding record

    Hi Jayson,

there's no way (that I know of) to add records to another file from within a
dropdown list. You could put a portal to the company file on your layout
which allows you to add records. See John Weinshel's post in the "How many
files" thread for details on setting up a portal.
