Adding reference page links - fonts not embedding in Acrobat

Hi:

Have a project that was created in QuarkXPress (MAC OSX 10.3.9 - G5 - Quark 6.5 / Acrobat Professional 7.0.2).

I have links all over this pup with for URLs, pageviews, bookmarks, etc., BUT when I decided to add a small reference at the end of a few paragraphs while in the PDF file I am getting a cannot embed description for any of the fonts. All fonts are embedded (distilled using Standard settings that I have customized to embed all fonts). The same settings are ones I have used in the past, but with Acrobat 6. In the fonts list in Distiller is pointed to all my fonts. The only thing that wasn't in the font list was the collected font folder, but the person who moved the package to me works in the next office and we have matching systems with the same fonts.

The touch up properties list says it "Can embed font", but right after saving as, I get a warning that says, "The font could not be embedded because the font stored on the page and the system font are encoded differently and the encodings could not be resolved.".

Has something changed in Acrobat 7? I am still going to go back to the original file and distill again to just see if I could of done anything different there.

Hmmmmmm. It'd just be So nice to have made these references (a total of 12 places where I just want to have something like: "(Re: Pg7)"

I finally solved it via the "bite the bullet" method. I made the text changes in the original file and then distilled those pages into another PDF and have since inserted the new, deleted the old and reestablished all the links (sheesh).

Anyone know if this is just the way Acrobat 7 is?
