Adjust OS-9 Icon placement from OS-X? - Mac Programming

Anyone know if there's a way to adjust OS-9 window and icon layouts from either the shell or Applescript under OS-X? Or even programatically? I was unable to find anything on the web about how icon & window size/placement info is even stored in OS-9 - any pointers would be most helpful....

I'm not familiar with how to do with with AppleScript, but
    programmatically...

for FSSpec's, you use FSpGetFInfo and FSpSetFInfo.

for FSRef's, you use FSGetCatalogInfo and FSSetCatalogInfo.
You must type-cast the finderInfo field of the FSCatalogInfo record to a
    FileInfo record.

The FileInfo record contains an icon's position within it's parent
    folder's window as a Point.

This applies to folder and file icons. But if you're dealing with
folders, you want to use a FolderInfo record in place of FileInfo record
(if you care about the other fields).

FSpGetFInfo and FSpSetFInfo expect an FInfo record.
If you choose to use a FileInfo record, you will have to type-cast it to
    FInfo.

FInfo, FileInfo and FolderInfo records are all binary compatible with
each other. The difference is the semantics.

Look in the Finder.h header file for more information about what
    information these records contain.

Other interesting things you can do is set the window's size and
position of a folder when it gets opened. And the scrolled position of
    the folder's window.
