Hi Justin,
is your PC part of domain or is this home PC? If it is part of domain,
Domain administrator might have prevented you from using this options...
If this is not the case and your PC is part of Workgroup it is most likely
that this is Local Policy Setting.

Getting rid of administrative rights
Years back I had Contribute on my computer and set up accounts for a few staff. I was the administrator. I now have a new computer and no longer... -

This computer is part of a domain and this user has
administrative rights to the computer. Also when I log
onto the computer as the local administrator it still
give me the permission error. We have many other
computers setup the same way and we have not had a
problem like this before. Could the profiles on the

Hi Justin,
being Local Admin doesn't necessary give you all the rights if Domain admin
has disabled them on Domain...
Check Group Policy on OU or domain in which computer resides.
I doubt this is profile problem since you have this problem on two different
user accounts on this PC. You can try with third one to make sure... but I
am pretty positive that this is Group Policy set on domain or OU problem...
