Adobe Acrobat 5.0 affecting Word and Excel - Adobe Acrobat Windows

I recently loaded Adobe Acrobat 5.0 to my desktop computer. Now whenever I open or close Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel I get a pop up Microsoft Visual Basis message box that states "Compile error in hidden module: AutoExec." How do I fix this? Thanks!...

It depends on what version of Word you have - if you have Office 2003 then remove the PDFMaker by doing a customer install - it is not compatible.

If you have Office 2002 (or Winxp) then make sure you are using Acrobat 5.0.5.

If you are using 97, 2000 or XP and are running 5.0.5 then try removing and reinstalling the PDFMaker as per this doent.

PDFMaker had problems with several versions of WORD for AA5. Your only choice may be to delete PDFMaker.dot. If you are not using AA5.0.5, be sure to download the update from Adobe.

I have Word 2002. I downloaded the 5.0.5 patch and that did not fix the problem. I still get the same message box that states "Compile error in hidden module: AutoExec."

Should I now go ahead with deleting PDFMaker.dot? If so, how do I go about that?

    Thanks again!

    Dorian -

Thank you! It fixed Word, but I still get a message box when I open and close Excel. The message box states "Compile error in hidden module: DistMon."

    Any ideas for this?
