    Default "Adobe Acrobat could not install correctly"

    Has a fix been found yet for this damn annoying problem.
    I get this message regularly on my Mac G5, Leopard 10.5.2. I must have reinstalled the program about 5 times by now. It works properly for a few days, then this-

    "Adobe Acrobat could not install correctly"
    "A required component was not found, please restore the Adobe Acrobat folder from your original CD".

    Doing a forum search, I noticed people were having this same problem as far back as October 2007. Has it been resolved yet, and if so how?

    might have found a "work-around" for this one. I was having the problem with a corporate license acrobat install. As a quick test, I merely deleted the folder in the applications folder and replaced it with the non-corporate version on my computer. It worked. I know this is not a fix, but for my client, it is a temporary fix. Another thing to try is installed the corporate license copy onto a different machine (making sure that it works after install) then physically copying that to the original computer. Obviously it's something within the contents of the app.

    Hope this helps.

    have had the same problem. unable to fix with reinstall, but have noticed that for no apparent reason Pro will start and work fine for awhile, then back to the same old "could not install correctly" routine, also for no apparent reason.

    Ok, I found out a fix. Go here:
    <http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html>
    Download and Install
    Now open a PDF file, but choose to open it with the Reader and select "Always Open this kind of file with" box.
    There you go....you can now view and edit PDF's and don't have to worry about errors.
