    Default Adobe has become Microsoft-like

I have used Adobe products from day one. Pagemaker 1.0 (Aldus then Adobe), Photoshop, etc. I have always been a big fan of Adobe products, but Adobe is so totally broken now.

Illustrator is broken beyond use. Acrobat documents are no longer compatible. Downloads are not available. (Trying for the past 3 days to download Mac Acrobat Update 6.0.5, from three machines and two different platforms, server has been unavailable each and every time.)

I no longer spec Adobe products, and advise my clients to stick with whatever version they have now, because anything newer is broken and NOT worth the price of the upgrade.

Have tried to overcome a "This document is damaged, 109" error that has plagued us since upgrading to 7.0. No help from Adobe has been forthcoming, so our solution is to downgrade all of our packages back to CS1, which has worked flawlessly for us since installation.

ADOBE, IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!

Have you contacted Adobe Technical Support for help with your problem or have
you just been waiting for a fix? When are you getting this 109 error? Is this
happening with all pdf files are just some? Have these files been transported
from one machine to another? Are you using virus protection? If want help,
    please try to provide details?

I maintain three Macs and two PCs at home, and six Mac workstations in a classroom. Your experience is not at all like mine. I find my copies of Illustrator work just fine (and so do those of the great majority of people in my classes or the Illustrator User to User forums).

I update my eleven workstations just fine. If there were those kind of problems for the majority of users, I can guarantee that we'd here about it right here.

But you don't ask for help, you just want to bellyache in public.

So I'm happy you're going back to your copies of Acrobat 4 and QuarkXPress 3. We probably won't be hearing from you again.

For those of us uneducated what is the error 109 he is referring to so we could be on the look out for it.
Something is not right for that many machines he is dealing with are doing this. who knows he might have a utility opr application or extension on his machine(s) that are causing this.

Typically I believe that it means that the file is damaged.

We'd have to know how the OP is creating the files (or whether they are files that are created elsewhere). It could be in the creation end and have nothing to do with the machines.

Maybe he could supply us a link to one of the files...?
