Adobe Illustrator CS Installation Problem...

generally i consider myself somewhat computer savvy, however it is completely possible that i'm making a very simple mistake somewhere and i don't realize it. here's my problem: i just purchased the Education version of Adobe Illustrator CS after using a tryout version of Adobe Illustrator 10 not long ago. the tryout expired before i purchased the Education version i currently have. i'm almost positive i completely uninstalled the tryout version before attempting to install the one i just bought.

everytime i install it, it runs perfectly. it never asks me to enter the serial number i have or anything like that. then once it appears as though everything has been installed, i'll try to open the program and i get the same trial expiration notice that i've been getting. i have all the system requirement necessary (assuming i'm correct in believing that Windows ME is compatable) and i'm not getting any error messages of any variety.

is the educational version just another tryout, and a complete waste of my money, or is there something i'm doing wrong that someone could help me with?

Brian,

The Educational Version is functionally identical with the commercial
product.

Some remnants of the try-out 'timer' have been left over on your machine -
this is normal as it prevents folks from re-installing the try-out, but it
shouldn't be affecting installation of the Educational Version.

I suggest you telephone Adobe Technical Support over this one.
