Have you try turning off, deactivating, the FR plug-in?
How fast does it opens?

With the FR plug-in switched off it opens in seconds (1-2) as opposed to almost 2 minutes.

Yea thre has been some report of the plug-in causing some problems, so the suggestion has been to trun it off and manually activate your fonts.
Not sure if Extensis is going to update this plug-in since they just merge Suitcase adn FR creating Fusion.
Other user had other preferences for FM, if you are not so caught in the autoactivation you could just live without. otherwise find another Fm that would work better. some have suggested FontAgent, if I recall correctly, and others Font Explorer, this last one I use at home without too much problems. At work I still use FR, but now wihtout the auto-activations plug-in.
