AdobePDFPDE700 with a line marked through itin the copies and pages drop down bar

This is the first time that I have seen this before. The customer is using Quark 7.02 on a Intel Mac 10.4.8 and is being told to use the Acrobat PPD. When the customer goes to print from their document under the copies and pages drop down bar below the Paper Feed, there is (AdobePDFPDE700) in there with a line through it.

A call was placed to Quark in regards to this and they said that this is a problem from an ADOBE compatibility issue that they have seen in the past with the Intel machine.

Are there any other issues with Adobe products that any of our customers need to be made aware of when using the Intel Mac?

This particular customer is a sometimes user of Quark 7 but mostly works out of InDesign. Are there any other discrepancies between InDesign CS2 and the Intel at this time also?

I have had this happen with Acrobat 7 and Acrobat 8 both installed.
If you remove all traces of the Acrobat 7 pdf printer instance, then
the problem will disappear. When I updated from 7.08 to 7.09 it
re-occured. I then went back to remove the 7.0 pdf printer instance
and all was well again.

Julia,

the AdobePDF Printer for Acrobat 7.0 does not work, since it is not Universal. You have to update to Acrobat 8. Due to a bug in XP 7.1 (7.01) you have to issue the command "sudo chmod -R 777 /var/spool/cups", otherwise no PDFs get saved when printing through AdobePDF Printer of Version 8.
