Default AI 10-Grey box around dragged objects

I recently loaded AI 10 on a G5 running OS 10.3.2 and whenever I drag an object with one of the selection tools, I get a grey outlined box that "floats" around the object being dragged. The box is larger than the selected objects and only appears if you select an entire object or objects but not when you select and drag individual points. It's very annoying and appears to be a glitch rather than an actual feature.

This is NOT the same thing as the bounding box with handles for reshaping, which works just fine. This is simply a plain grey outline around the selection and only when dragging. It roughly follows the object(s) during the move but loosely floats around the object(s) depending on where you move your cursor. Has anyone else experienced this or know how to get rid of it?

This is a well-known, minor bug in Illustrator 10. It's pretty annoying, but you eventually get used to it. It was fixed in AI CS.

Great! I can't wait until my clients move to CS now. Thanks for at least putting that to rest Gary!

This is not a bug - it is called "live paint".
