Default AI 10 on 10.3 gets spinning ball at "loading settings" :(

I have a problem I hope someone can help on. I have Adobe Illustrator 10 loading on my Powerbook G4 12" (1GHz, 768 MB Ram), and for a while it was working fine. Today, whenever I try to launch the app, the spinning beach ball starts as soon as I get to "loading settings". Eventually, it will finally launch—if I choose to wait that long! I have already gone to User>Library>Prefs to trash the pref file, but has no effect. I only have the standard fonts that came with the laptop. I have not loaded any of my fonts on it yet, so I don't think fonts can be an issue?!? Can anyone help?

    Thanks,
    Matt

Oh . . . also another problem. When I try to print a basic file, I get the spinning beach ball again for a long time, close to a minute, before the printer window even opens, and even now, this last time, I get a message that I can't print the file!!!

Same problem here. I am running 10.3.2 and AICS. It just started today. Yesterday I installed the GoLive 7.01 update and latest security update.

For no reason while I am working, every 2 or 3 minutes the beachball starts spinning for 15-20seconds, then I can work again. It just keeps happening. There is no pattern on what I seem to be doing. Its almost like a timed schedule.

    This is very annoying!

    Thanks

I haven't loaded any new software. The only thing I have done is work with the network and airport card settings/security. All other programs have been UNeffected: InDesign, Photoshop, etc. The ONLY problem has been Illustrator. With the problems I see with the new CS version, I can't imagine Adobe expecting everyone to upgrade now:)

Have you purged the adobefnt files? Search for "adobefnt" in the Finder and delete all but the adobefnt.db file.
