AI CS does not "Convert to Working Space"
I have several hundred AI 10 files that I want to convert to CS.
The AI 10 files have no embedded ICC Profile, but the AI CS files will all have the Working Space profile embedded in them.
I have tried to use an Action to accomplish this, but it appears impossible (that's another thread in the making).
I have set AI CS's working space to the CMYK profile I will each document to end up with.
My Color Settings specify that my CMYK color management policy is to convert documents to the Working Space.
My Color Settings also specify that I do NOT want to be asked about Missing Profiles and Profile Mismatches when opening files.
The combination of these two settings SHOULD make it so that I am not prompted about missing profiles when I open a file that has no profile, and that these files are automatically converted to the Working Space CMYK profile, right?
That's what I expect, but this is not what I am seeing, and that's why I'm writing here.
Now if I turn on Prompting, I get a warning about a missing profile, and an opportunity to "ASSIGN" the Working Space profile, in which case everything turns out as I need it to, albeit with the unwelcome extra step of having to acknowledge a dialog.
Am I misunderstanding my Color Settings and the Color Management Policies set therein ?
