AI CS Mac Printing Problem (Pinkish cast halfway down the page)

I apologize if this has been answered before - I've tried every search term I can think of and read topic headers for a while but couldn't find an answer.

I'm using AI CS on 10.3.3 printing to a Canon i9100.

I'm trying to print an image as a bleed (which it's doing fine) at the top of the page (a letterhead type thing) - my problem is that way after all of my imagery has ended, Illustrator continues to print a 'white' background exactly half way down the page, every time. The 'white' is of course a slightly pinkish dot pattern.

My artboard is no larger than the size of my image, and I've set a crop area a touch smaller than that, and set the print settings to use the crop area (I've also tried using the artboard).

I also tried printing with the transparency grid showing, but that had no effect.

Is it possible to tell Illustrator to not print anything that is white and rely on the paper? Even in the negative space of my logo & lettering, Illustrator prints a very visible dot pattern.

Have you checked the ICC profiles in AI? What workflow are you using, RGB/CMYK?

Sounds like there's a colour shift; the colour mapping is out and any 'white' is being remapped and reinterpreted by your printer.

Try getting AI configured to your printer.

Thanks for the reply. It was just a matter of switching my document to RGB for the inkjet proof - sometimes it's the easiest bit we overlook! :)
