AI CS painfully slow when editing text
Hi guys,
I've been using AI for a few years now, v8, then v9 and have now upgraded to CS. I have been using it to create wireframes for web page mockups, which is a very simply layout mostly consisting of a few text blocks & a few geometric shapes.
However editing text is painfully slow in CS - there is a noticeable lag when I type things, and typing more than a few words means AICS can't keep up and stops redrawing, until it gets a chance to display the last few words you wrote.
Obviously as a designer who's used to designing and having the software keep up, this is very frustrating. Its not a minor lag either, its very noticeable and disrupts my workflow.
I'm using a 1ghz athlon with Win2k & 768mb of ram. I'm not running any other big apps (just email, web browser etc) and taskmanager says there's CPU & mem usage to burn.
Any hints/tips/suggestions would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Luke
