AI8.0 not working properly with new mac. HELP!

I just installed AI 8.0 on my new emac with os 10.2 and the tools don't all show up in the tool box. I can't draw rectangles or any other shape. I also don't have pencil or brush tools. Can anyone help?

What version of "classic" are you running?

Have you tried starting classic with extensions off?

Have you tried launching classic then launching Illustrator 8?

You guys are killing me on my list of things to do! Scott now I have to worry about different VERSIONS of classic with an OSX system?!?!

Man, did everyone prepare for a system conversion like I am? I feel like I'm dealing with a PC.

Well classic is some flavor of OS9.. it could be OS9.0, 9.1 or 9.2 or 9.2.2. 9.2.2 should be the one you are using if you're running the classic environment for anything.

I believe 9.2.2 would have come wit a new emac. Can you upgrade to CS?

I do launch OS9 when I start 8.0. I still have the problem. HELP!!!

No now "when".

Launch classic... wait for it to start. THEN launch Illustrator. Dont' allow Illustrator to start classic for you

I tried your suggestion about launching classic and then Illustrator but the result was the same. Next suggestion?
