Default AICS and PSCS PMS definitions

I used PMS 1665U for type and rules, etc. in an AICS document, and placed PS monotones with the same PMS 1665U. The imagesetting vendor says they can't print out one piece of composite film because they're getting 2 separate PMS plates. When I import the 1665U monotones, AICS says they have a different definition and gives me the choice of using document color or import color. Anyone know why I 'm getting 2 definitions for the same PMS, even when I'm using the latest: AICS and PSCS, with Panther on a G5? If replacing all the monotones and using document color when prompted doesn't fix this, does anyone know what will? Thanks, Brad

Default Re: AICS and PSCS PMS definitions

Brad, I don't have AICS, but I have AI10 which I put files into Quark 4 to process.

You need the exact file names in both programs for the spot color to print. That could mean trying it on a paper printer before outputting negs or plate.

It gets a little confusing with AI10 (I don't know about CS) but I always add CVC to my Pantone colors in AI and then when they get to Quark 4 they turn into CV.

Just remember, it has to be exact same name.
