Description:

When using document ICC profiling on AICS documents, an unexpected CMS conversion occurs during print of separated postscript.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Assign a ICC profile to your AICS document, that is significantly different from your default working space (something with high gain and or alternate process inks is ideal).

2. Print the document to Adobe Postscript File.
2a. Insure that your CMS settings show source as your assigned ICC profile, and print space as same as source.

3. Distill the postscript and open in PS_CS without any profiling conversions. Alternately, if you have access to a RIP that can recombine separations into a single file, you can use it to examine the unwelcome conversion. We use Esko-Graphics Flexrip, but any RIP that will allow you to look at the separations recombined will work.

4. It will be apparent that the document has been reseparated using the CMS system, as if it was converted to LAB and then back to your ICC space. This is not expected. No conversion should be required.

Workaround:

Disabling color profiling before printing seems to fix the problem. Here are the steps to work around:

1. Edit menu, Assign Profile.
2. Select, Do not color manage document.
3. Print Postscript as normal, your separation will now be unconverted.
