AICS File Size Issue

I was supplied an older .ai file that was 64KB. When opened then saved out of AICS, the file became 112MB. I saved that AICS file to EPS (CS version) and it's over 145MB. Anyone know what's going on? The app has become noticeably slower and more prone to unexpectedly quit just today. Is this a case for more Prefs trashing fun?

Exporting to Legacy AI10 EPS yeilds a 4.5MB file (what I would expect). Opening that AI10 EPS in AICS and resaving as AICS EPS yeilds 4.8MB.

I've had a very similiar problem. I've had and earlier post discussing it. From what I can tell the problem appears to deal with AICS's color management. When it's set to emulate AI6 the file size when saved with PDF compatability turned on and font inclusion set to 0% the resulting file size is about 1.5 to 2 times the orginal AI10 file size. However, when any other color magagement setting such as US Prepress Defaults is used the file saved with the same output setting swells to 20+MBs.

My suggestion is to set the color settings to Emulate AI6 at the very top of the list and see if that helps.

BTW, So far I've checked this on 4 different installs of AICS and all behave the same.

It's looking to me like this is a bug in the program.
