Default Aligning objects along a path

I am trying to align objects to a path in the same way I can align text to a path.

Can do. It's called 'Inline Graphics'. Copy and paste the items, one at a
time, into a text block and then attach the text block to a path. Use text
controls such as text size, kerning and baseline shift to adjust.

If the objects are a Blend, you can Modify > Combine > Join Blend to Path.

Also, turning on 'Snap to Object' (under the 'View' menu) will allow you
to place specific points of your objects on the align path.
