Default Aligning Tables in 2 frames

Hi,

first of all I would like to thank everybody for making this a helpful and
informative forum and saving hours of frustration!

Anyway, I have built a site for a car dealership that has their content, plus
their franchises' (www.nissan.com.au and www.kia.com.au) content under a single
top frame.

One delaership is aligned left (Nissan) and the other centrally (Kia). I got
the Nissan one sorted thanks to Murray but the Kia one is stubborn.

If you go to http://www.lismorenissan.com and click on the <Kia> navigation
button you will see what I mean: the table with the logo etc in the top frame
sits about 15p to the right of the table in the main frame.

Is there a better way to correct this other than nesting the table in a top
frame and altering the alignment of using a spacer?

Regards,
Peter

Welcome to frameset hell.

The offset is due to the scrollbar on that frame.

I would not use frames on that site at all.

Using frames, however, your best solution would be to also force a scrollbar
on the top frame. It's ugly, but easy, reliable, and practical. You can
do this by adjusting the top frame's height to something just under 96px -
say 93px....

Hi Murray,

thanks for your reply; I don't find frames impossible - just very difficult.

Scrollbar? I suspect it may be even more ugly than what I have at present!

I assume that you would do the whole site as css utilising a tables instead of
frames and that the meta refresh tag would cause the external site to display
in the lower cell?

I think that for the time being that if I decide to fix it (the clients aren't
worried about it, only me) that I will nest it in the left cell of a 2 column
table and use a spacer in the right hand cell.

After all, cars have been kept on the road for years by less spohisticated
means :D

No. Is it imperative that you display the external site?
