All TCP/IP routing through modem
Hello,
I am using an IBM Netvista PC with an Ethernet NIC and
Modem installed. I connect to a domain on my network with
the Ethernet NIC and utilize network drives on the
domain. One of the programs I use for billing purposes
uses the modem in my PC to dial up to a clearing house.
This program needs to run from the network drive as I am
not the only one that needs to use the program.
Unfortunately as soon as the modem makes the connection
with the clearing house it routes ALL TCP/IP through the
modem, cutting the Ethernet NIC from any network
connection. This cuts off the network drive that the
program and data is stored on. The Ethernet NIC is still
retaining an IP as I checked through IPconfig. The only
documentation I could find about this was a WIN98 KB
article saying this was by design and there was no way
around it.
Any help or information would be appreciated, Thanks.
