an issue with Ubuntu - video
I have Ubuntu installed, along with the Nvidia package.
Why does any Linux install always run staggeredly ?
When I run Windows, it's apparent how smoothly it flows. I have never found
this to be the case with Linux.
It's like it 'hesitates'.
Anyone got any clues, or finds the same ?
Cheers

installing linux compared to installing windows? If not, then what are
you talking about? My kubuntu seems to respond even before I click on
something, it's like it has ESP or something. XP just takes it's sweet
old time..........

I use Ubuntu and Nvidia just fine on a laptop and desktop. What Nvidia
package?
How smoothly it flows? What kind of subjective nonsence is that? Are you
refering to Windows 3.1 on a 486? Vista on a 4.5 ghz super computer?

drawing requests that the X window system does. It was originally
designed for running over the network, and it still works great over
the network but as a consequence the screen updates are delayed to a
degree where you can see the windows jumping as you drag them around.
There are some efforts to build X on top of the GL 3-D redering layer
which would probably fix this and make the system feel more like OS/X.
