Default animation

Hi,

I've got a question about animations. I have

http://www.dago.be/home.html

and I want some animation on it. I imported the file from photoshop, got a lot of layers and would like to draw animated lines on them. All over the middle of the design. Can I do this, and how do I have to do it. I've fireworks mx and just got the program.

Hope someone can help me out, I don't have much time left for this site....

Hm. I'm trying to picture how you'd create an animation WITHOUT layers.
Could be done, but layers make it easier.

I'd love to see you create an animation without frames in Fireworks,

Only if you are using layers. It's not necessary to use layers when
creating an animation. Drag one of the sample animations from the
libraries onto a canvas and you'll see what I mean.

I find that the easiest way to create an animation in FW that has some
static objects and some moving objects is to share the static objects across
frames. I guess you don't HAVE to, but there are a lot of things that are
"best practice" you don't HAVE to do if you really hate some feature. Like
I guess you could duplicate a frame and use your arrow to move an object a
couple of pixels, duplicate, move, duplicate move, if you don't happen to
like "Animate Selection." Whatever floats your boat... :-)

Actually, I am nearly positive it is impossible to create a document inf FW,
animated or not, that does not contain, and thus "use," at least two layers.

You could. You could also convert the object to a symbol, clone it, move
the clone where you want the object to be on the last frame, and choose
Modify > Tween Instances.

Then you get to animate the old fashioned way- one frame at a time. :-)

I can't tell where the layers are just by looking at the Web page, nor
can I begin to guess where you want the animation, how big it should be,
etc.
> Do I have to make a new layer for the animation?
No/yes. It depends on what you want it to look like. I'm not trying to
be facetious. You simply haven't supplied enough information for me to
be much help. It would be best if you would take the time to read the
Creating Animation section of the help files.

You can create it in a slice of the document.

Skin,

Default animation

Hello,
I am trying to put together what is for want of a better word a form of
banner add.

I know if I design the first image and select distribute across all frames
that it will appear all the way through animation.
I can easily put in the text to zoom up or fade in or out but what I am
having trouble with is making text stay solid while the next text animation
works.
To put it a different way if I have say a solid background with a logo on it
and make them both as one group I want the first set of text to come from
fade to 100% the stay on view and not animate any more while a second set of
text comes from fade to 100% and then both sets of text to stay solid while
a third set comes in as the first two did.
Can this be done or am I trying the impossible.
Any help really appreciated as I am very new to fireworks and stuck on this
one problem.

Objects that don't change belong in a shared layer. When you create the
layer, check the Share Across Frames box.

Default animation

I have made in 3dsMax a simple aniamtion consist of 3 keyframes: first 2, are
of a door opening, and the last of it being closed:

keyframe 1-------(door opens)-------keyframe 2-------(door
closes)-------keyframe 3

when I exported it to director, I had (and still have) difficulties
controlling the animation.
when i tell it to play untill it reaches certain time, it not allways gets
there, and when i to do it again, it jumps...
i tryed to use "registerScript" (i think its called like this) to get events
when the animation endes and begins, but
its no use... the animation seems to have a will of its own...
is there any way making it more percise?

Hi, For simple rotation animation like opening a door, you may use the
Open/Close Model behavior in the Chrome Lib. Just make sure the pivot point of
the model to be rotated is well located in 3DS Max before export. You do no
have to create an animation in 3DS Max, this behavior will do it all and
interactively. Best regards, Karl Sigiscar. http://www.chromelib.com

thank you for the quick replay.

the open/close thing is just a practise for a bigger project, for start i need
to be able to control this simple animation, then i'll move on.

can you help me with that question, without using chromelib ?

Sure, look through the code of the 'Play Animation' behavior in the Chrome
Lib and you'll get your answer in Lingo terms ;-)

I got it now.
The only thing i had to do is to use the "removeLast" method, it made my keyframePlayer to actually respond to what i want it to do...
