[ANNOUNCE] Workaround Technote : Problems running Flash Player 8.0.24.0ActiveX control after installation when logged in as Restricted User on Windows
We've got a workaround technote in place for admins affected by the
restricted user issue with Flash Player 8.0.24.0.

This should help alleviate the pain while we determine a more complete
solution.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Workaround Technote : Problems runningFlash Player 8.0.24.0 ActiveX control after installation whenlogged in as Restricted User on Windows
I think the windows installers for Netscape and for Internet Explorer of Flash
Player 9 should be merged to ONLY ONE executive file. That is, users do not
need to download two files: install_flash_player_9_beta.exe
AND
install_flash_player_9_ax_beta.exe
, they should ONLY need to download ONE file:
install_flash_player_9_beta.exe
for installing Flash Player 9.
I think the Windows installer of Flash Player should ALSO support Internet
Explorer so that users do only need to install ONE time for BOTH Netscape and
Internet Explorer.
I think the statement "
There are separate installations for different browsers because the directory
path for each browser is different. The Flash Player is not automatically
recognized when you install this in just Internet Explored, or just Netscape.
" is neither an excuse (rational reason) nor relevant information.
The reasons are, for Flash Player, the Mac OS installer can support BOTH
Internet Explorer and Netscape.
In addition, for Shockwave Player, the Windows installer can support BOTH
Internet Explorer and Netscape;
the Mac OS installer can support BOTH Internet Explorer and Netscape.
In my opinion, the problem is how Adobe concerns the requests of "users", and
how Adobe would like to
improve the installers of its products.
