    Default Another bonehead newbie question

I have a 3 page hard copy form, that I want to turn into a pdf, so it can be filled in digitally. I am on a Mac G4, running system 10.2. I have Acrobat 6.

At first I tried using PhotoShop 7 to scan the image and saving it as a tif, and then exporting it as a pdf file so I could fill it in, but when I opened Acrobat, it did not seem to recognize fields that I could fill in.

I then tried scanning the form directly from Acrobat, again the same problem.

I know there must be some simple explanation, but I would appreciate any advice on this.

    Thanks,
That is just what I needed, although it has created another problem. When I try and print the the forms, I get a message that says :
"In the chooser, select your printer driver. "(Is there a chooser in OSX?)
"Then select your printer and click the setup button." (If I try to print I get a save as, as opposed to a print option)
"Follow any on-screen dialogs that might appear."
    Any ideas?

"In the chooser, select your printer driver. "

You're seeing that message in Acrobat?

    He shouldn't be unless he's running OS9

Depending upon the version of OSX it should be Pint Centre or Printer Utility.

In OSX if you don't select a printer through Printer Utility and Make a specific printer as your Default printer, all your applications end up with when you open The print menu Any printer; you end up using a Factory default driver to print with.

You have to click on button any printer in Page setup menu and choose your printer before it shows correctly in Print menu. Sometimes that doesn't even stick unless you save as custom setup. I wish there was a way to set your default printer in Printer Utility and then when any application you open would default to that printer. but doesn't seem to work that way.

I have the forms all set and filled out. I hit the print button, and the usual print dialogue box comes up showing my default printer. However, when I do hit the print button, a new dialogue box comes up with a save as command, and not a print option. If I do hit the save button, the printer then prints the message about using the chooser.

I did the Apple-about this Mac, and it states OS 10.2.8.If I go into the print center, I show the default printer to be the AppleLaser Writer 4/600 ps.

I tried printing other documents-one in MSWord and one in PageMaker 7 and they both printer fine.

I finally connected my G3 Laptop, and was able to print from there, (system 9.1) without problems. I did, however, encounter a new problem when I decided I wanted to edit one of the txt fields I had filled in before. No matter what tool I selected I was not able to select the text to delete it.

Amy ideas on how I can get my G4 desktop with system 10.2.8 and Acrobat 6 to print-my original post, and why I am unable to edit the forms once they have been filled in?

Acrobat 6 doesn't run in OS 9, so how did that work?
