Another NEWBIE wireless question... - Mac Networking

Sorry, but I have a Newbie question: I hear that "Wireless G" is very secure. Can someone please give me an ogy how secure it is? Currently, my computer's ethernet cable goes into a router, which goes into my cable modem which goes into my wall. If on a scale of 1 to 10, what I have now is a "10," then on a scale of 1 to 10, what would it be if I connected to a Wireless G router? Okay, next Newbie question.... Sorry, but I have a Newbie question: I hear that "Wireless G" is very
secure. Can someone please give me an ogy how secure it is?

Currently, my computer's ethernet cable goes into a router, which goes
into my cable modem which goes into my wall. If on a scale of 1 to 10,
what I have now is a "10," then on a scale of 1 to 10, what would it be
if I connected to a Wireless G router?

Okay, next Newbie question.... I've heard that for most applications,
any Wireless G router would be good. However, for gaming, top speed is
needed with the least "lag." Can anyone please recommend a Wireless G
router, regardless of cost? (after answering my "scale of 1 to 10
question," because security is important :-)

Oh, ya, and the wireless router has to broadcast to the other room which
has BOTH a PC (running XP), and an iMac (running OS 9.2).

    Thank you!

You heard wrong. It's inherently no more secure than any other method.
However, it does support WPA encryption, which is very secure.

If you use WPA encryption, I'd rate the security as 9+.

    No difference in that regard.

No difference in that regard either.

    Two things to note:

    1) If ANY 802.11b devices on on the net, whether they are transmitting
or not, it slows down your net.

    2) I don't see how g can make a difference in gaming. The speed to the
Internet is constrained by your broadband connection, which is much
slower than even b, let alone g.

Wireless G router with WPA: Jury's still out, but should be better
    than 5.
