Another Newby partitioning question - Linux Setup, Configuration & Administration

The primary drive is an old 2GB, slave drive is 10GB. I know I have to install the OS on the primary drive. But is there a way I can load most of the additional software on the larger drive, and use the primary only for the boot files? (I would rather not swap the drive boot order, as I have Win2K loaded as well.) Tia....

    That depends on your BIOS.
You can try installing on the second disc and see if it works?
(make a bootfloppy or place lilo/grub on the MBR of hda)

Ofcourse. If you cannot boot from hdb at all, only /boot has
to be on hda. (a few MB is enouigh (I usually use 16 MB)

LILO(or grub) can switch drive ordering, so even this
    wouldn't be a problem. Win2k wouldn't even know it's
connected as hdb instead of hda.
