Another Safari app unable to access a bank site - Mac Networking

Actually I can get on the site but I can't pay bills. On Safari, OS x.2.8. I can do so with MS Exploder 5.2 I change my User Agent to MS IE 5.2, no improvement. Here is my question: I downloaded and installed the Java update 1.4.1 No improvement. I downloaded X.2.8 (the newer build) and installed it. Not happening yet. Even with the user agent spoofing. So this evening I happen to look at my Safari plugins because I want to verify that I have Flash 6.0. It is there but... My Java plugin is 1.3.1 Huh? Does OS ...

Actually I can get on the site but I can't pay bills. On Safari, OS
x.2.8. I can do so with MS Exploder 5.2

I change my User Agent to MS IE 5.2, no improvement.

    Here is my question:

I downloaded and installed the Java update 1.4.1

    No improvement.

I downloaded X.2.8 (the newer build) and installed it.

Not happening yet. Even with the user agent spoofing.

So this evening I happen to look at my Safari plugins because I want to
verify that I have Flash 6.0. It is there but...

My Java plugin is 1.3.1 Huh?

Does OS X.2.8 update (downdate in this case) the Java plugin?

Is the Plugin used by Java 1.4.1 still 1.3.1?

    TIA,

and now i cannot find java 1.4.1. and neither can I download it.

It's been withdrawn. Temporarily, one assumes.

Thank you for your answer. I would be interesting to know why it has
been withdrawn since there are applications which require Java 1.4.1
    to function on Jaguar.

    From Apple's web site:

"We are in the process of revising the Java 1.4.1 download to provide
better compatibility with changes made in other recent Apple software
updates. Check back here for up-to-date information on the status of the
    Java 1.4.1. download."

    My translation of said article:

What's funny is it is only being discovered now by the media. I read
about it happening on the 24th or 25th somewhere. Wish I could remember
where, it would go a lot higher on my priority list of news sites to read...

I've simply given up using Safari 1.1 for anything requiring java.
Mozilla Firebird works perfectly every time. I'd guess that Apple will
be updating java and Safari pretty quickly, perhaps along with all the
    other fixes need for Panther.
