    I like the afterstep clock myself and have noticed that it is missing as
    well. I have a backup tape from my system when it was running RHL7 and
    will see if any of the file locations step on what is already in RHL9.
    If there are no conflicts, I'll just copy the files to their proper
    locations and try it. Maybe even on a "test" user I set up so I don't
    mess up my own Gnome settings.

    I don't know a good gnome2 clock applet, but you can use the swallower
    meta applet to run external apps like wmclock or even xclock in the
    panel.
