Our office recently purchased Acrobat 7 Professional to help us convert untagged PDF's into tagged ones, so that we'll be in compliance with the ADA act. Unfortunately, Acrobat 7 for Mac is wholly unintuitive and quite frustrating. Are there any instructions or tutorials on the web for producing tagged PDF's from untagged PDF's?

Here's just a sample of the problems I've encountered:

-Our Hewlett-Packard printer/scanner (MFP-9000) can convert printed documents into untagged PDF's. I want to be able to create alt text for the school's logo on the letterhead. When I try to use the Touch Up Reading Order Tool to draw a box around the logo, instead of producing a green box around the area I demarcated, it produces two smaller boxes around the letters that the OCR recognizes (I guess.) It will only recognize "rea" in "Area" and "ege" in "College".

-When I go into the Tag tab to add alt text to a tag, the tag information is not saved when I save the file. I assume this is the case, because the file said "Warning-Empty File" when I clicked the "Read Out Loud" command before I altered the alt text, and after alterting the alt text, I get the same warning from "Read Out Loud".

Can anyone help? I had an easier time learning DVD Studio Pro than I did this, and DVDSP is the most user-unfriendly app I've used until now.

Thanks in advance.
