    Hi Jim,

Still working. And likely still will be for my grandkids.

I have two bodies. One, a black body F2/DP1, I purchased new in July,
1976 and have used ever since--except for an extended period of
storage in the 1990s. The paint is somewhat brassed-up and the base
plate is scratched. It was CLAed and re-foamed for the first time in
June, 2002 and still feels and operates the way a Mercedes feels when
    you slam the door.

The other, a chrome F2/DP1, was recently purchased used from KEH and
is in exquisite condition. It was also CLAed in November, 2002 and it
not only also slams like a Mercedes door, it looks like it never, ever
    left the original owner's garage.

Add to these a Nikkor manual focus lens suite including 24/2.8,
    50/1.8, 55/1.2, 105/2.5, 180/2.8ED, 300/4.5 and a 35-105/3.5-4.5 zoom
and I see absolutely no reason to look for newer or "better"
equipment--og or digital. Add a couple rolls of Kodachrome and I
may as well have died and gone to heaven.

Unfortunately, I know those last conclusions cast me as a dimwitted,
technophobic, Luddite outcast in the eyes of most in this newsgroup,
especially the digital crowd. But then again, these people aren't
riding with me when I take these beautiful, vintage automobiles out
    for a spin.

Sure, a gasoline/electric hybrid will get you there, but...

Still working? Of course. F2T, and with the optional DP12.
