APIC problems
I've been trying to get Mandrake 9.1 going on the computer I built.
I've been having problems just after installation - it won't start up
from the hard disk (the screen just freezes). The last time when I
started my computer, I was getting some APIC error messages (which I
guess stands for Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller). I went
into my BIOS setup and disabled APIC, and then my computer started.
Does anyone know what's going on? I bet it's a bad idea to disable
APIC. Did the installation work incorrectly, or is it a hardware
problem?
By the way, my motherboard is an Asus A7N8X-X and I have an AMD ATHLON
XP processor in it.
