Which media you are using in transfer. Sometimes data gets corrupted on the way. Try packing the file(s) with for example Stuffit (Available for Windows too)

Sometimes files sent by email from Mac to Windows break up. The file with the right name usually includes Mac resource fork and the oddly named file includes the actual data. Have not seen tha for a while, though.

    Some random ideas:
    - Do you have FH11 installed in Win machine?
    - Filename should have period before extension like Filename.fh11.
    - I'm not sure if files made with Mac FH 11.02 are compatible with Win FH 11.0 - should be though.

    Hello Jukka,

Unfortionatly I cannot copy the file again. But I copyd it from firewire disk
(apple) to usb stick. From apple to windows. And I use MXa newer version on
Windows than where it was made on. But also other filetypes are not working
properly exept for a few ones. So I a am affraid the files are indeed
corrupted. Am affraid that it is more a apple / windows issue than freehand
    issue.....

I agree it's probably mac/win, not FH. I have ALWAYS needed to add the file extension to get the occasional Mac FH file to work on my PC. But, if the extension is there, I have had success.

I'm having this exact problem atm with a file that was created on a mac and
sent to my pc. I have to edit this file but not all the images show up on it.
Instead of the images I have just boxes with and X in it. In the file folder
that I unpacked with the stuffit program there are files that are these mac
resource files, they are named the exact same as other files in the folder
except they have the ending eps.rsrc whereas the other files just have .eps. I
can't open the .rsrc files and when I open the normal .eps files all I get are
the black boxes with Xs. Does anyone know of a way to convert the .eps.rsrc
file to something that a pc can read?

    thanks,
    Tom

I just wanted to add that I should have been clearer in my first posting. The
fiile extension must be added from the Mac side before PC translation, rather
than after by the PC. Adding a file extension onto a Mac file in Windows has
    mixed results.

The resource files are useless on a PC, they mostly contain the preview
image; don't waste your time on them.

You could try to open the EPS files in Photoshop if they're pixel images.

It it's vector artwork you might have to resort to Illustrator or
convert the EPS files to PDFs with Distiller and import those into FH.
