Applescript & Cocoa - Mac Programming

I just started playing around with the Applescript events in Interface Builder and I can't get anything to work. At first I was getting an error about some ASK??? class not found, but I added the Applescript framework and that seemed to fix that error. However, I still can't get any Applescript to run from events. I created a button and associated the following Applescript with it's "clicked" event, but it just never gets called. Can someone please tell me what I might be doing wrong? on clicked theObject display dialog "hi" end clicked -- Kevin Smith com...

It doesn't matter. The way to learn AppleScript it to follow
the tutorial. So put the project you're working on aside for
a day and start fresh following the tutorials slavishly. As
part of that process you'll find out why your button doesn't
work. Then, once you've learned the basics of AppleScript
you can pick up your project again and add the features you
    want to it.
