Re: Applying backgrounds to PDF files
Have an active pdf file open and then go to the Acrobat menu bar and select Document - Background - Add/Replace. In the Source dialog box select file and navigate to the background file. When you select the file, you should see the background applied in the preview pane of the add background dialog box. Unfortunately I don't.

Re: Applying backgrounds to PDF files
Strange, but what are you using as a background file. Can you post it on a web so others on the forums can download and test?

Re: Applying backgrounds to PDF files
You're probably choosing an image format that Acrobat doesn't support. What did you use?

Re: Applying backgrounds to PDF files
The background image file is a pdf file and it works properly in the Windows environment, so I don't think that's the problem.
After some more testing, my guess is that it's a Apple iWork bug. Interestingly, when using Windows applications in Fusion (XP pro) on my Mac, I can print to the pdf printer, move the file to my Mac desktop, run Acrobat Pro for Mac and I can apply the background. However when I create any pdf files from Apple Numbers or Pages, I cannot apply backgrounds.
I appreciate the offer to test using my files, so I'll post them this weekend.
