Default Are there alternative database formats?

Is there an alternative database format to MS Access or SQL?

What other database formats are supported that do not require extra software
    (other than IIS)?

Default Re: Are there alternative database formats?

Are you talking about databases that you can access from an ASP page? There
are lots. The way ASP accesses underlying data is via ADO -> OLEDB -> Data
Source. Optionally ODBC can in inserted. There are ODBC drivers out there
for just about every major database there is. So, you could use Oracle, DB2,
Sybase, FoxPro, Progress, mySQL, PostgreSQL etc, etc

    Cheers

    Wow. I didn't realize.
Let me ask it this way.....What other options for databases that meet these
    requirements...
    1) Do not require any additional server configuration to IIS (basically, my
host provider will not alter any of his settings therefore I do not have the
option of altering IIS or configuring ODBC, for example.)
    2) Is faster than a MS Access database

    What do you think?
