are there symbols in ID?
I have to reuse a shape many times in my document and I would like to have the option of changing just one of the copies and have the rest update automaticly. Is this possible in ID?

Re: are there symbols in ID?
Yes, make the shape a place-able graphics file. Place it many times in the document. Update the shape in a graphics program. Use the Links palette to update the link to the file.

Re: are there symbols in ID?
PS: Symbols in Illustrator behave this way, but there is no directly comparable technology in InDesign.

Re: are there symbols in ID?
Mike, thanks for the help. One more thing. I did create a place-ble graphic and copied it around the document. Later on I tried to scale up the original graphic and after updating the links in ID I could see only a part of the "symbols". It seems like the program kept the size of the original frame. Do you know a way to update the new size as well.
Many thanks
Marco
