arrow keys and option-select dup now fail

Folks:

AI10 on MacOS 10.3.4

Up to now: Arrow keys jogged seleted objects UDR or L; shift-arrow did bigger moves. Option-select enabled drag-duplication of the current object.

Now: Arrow keys do nothing. Option-select will sometimes bring up the double cursor signifying drag-duplication "enabled" but only transiently.

Keyboard short cuts seem to work -- for example, Command-S does do a save.

So something is broken. I can work around these problems, but not conveniently. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

You could start by trashing AI preferences and repairing permissions. If that doesn't work, create a new user account with administrative permissions.
