arrows and lines and paths, OH MY! - Adobe Illustrator Windows

Lets say I have Illustrator CS. And lets say I make a straight line with a stroke of 13. Now lets say I added arrowheads, using the nifty little arrowheads effect. Now I want to put a thin little stroke around the big, giant, thick arrow I just made. How can I do this? I tried using "outline path", but the arrowhead disappears when I do that. Thoughts? Questions? Comments? Concerns? Jokes? Alex...
