Default Attributes/resolution in version 10

Hi!

I've had my hair turn grey over a problem with a logo printing extremely blocky.
This is an example of how the logo prints:

ftp://guest:guest@prod.depicta.com/from_depicta/depicta100.jpg

It looks fine on screen in both Illustrator 10 and Acrobat 6.

This is how smooth it should be:

When I finally opened the file in Illustrator 8 I could see that the resolution for the object was 100. After I set it to 2400 DPI it prints fine.

Have I missed something somewhere or have Adobe really removed this object-level setting from Illustrator 10 and CS?

Default Re: Attributes/resolution in version 10

Yes they have removed the object level attribute.

If you think about it there is no reason to have this setting at the object level.

It is now controlled by document setup.

However, if you save to version 8 compatiblity, as it sounds like you have done, previously invisible object level settings can, and will, come out and bite you in the a**.

Lesson here is NOT to save back, or if you must, open in v8, select all and change to whatever you want (personally for me 800 is too low), and resave.
