we have implemented an short usability test about
EARCONS (= audio icons). it was done with director and
if you are interested try it. it checks how good earcons work for
orientation.

first you can try the 4 directions and then you here the sound and
you should try to find the correct way (it is 32 steps long). you only
need audio boxes and your cursor keys.
