Default Re: auto crop when scanning?

I'm not knowledgable with creating Acrobat documents at all, I have scanned in a couple of articles for a professor for my teaching assistantship this semester. Every time I scan a page in, it comes up auto-cropped. This has not been a problem in the past, as the most important thing it has cropped out has been the page number in a black and white text document. However, I am trying to scan in full-color documents now and on some pages, the crop is so extreme that only the picture on the page shows up, none of the text. I have been searching the help on Acrobat, but I can't find anything about this problem. I am in the computer lab at school, so I don't know much about the computer or scanner I'm using. The scanner is an Epson perfection 2450 photo and the computer is a newer Mac, but most of it is locked away, so I have no idea where to find exactly what model of Mac it is. I am running Acrobat professional 7.0. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Preview the image, select the crop area, and then scan.
select the full preview on the preview pane.
