Auto F/X Photo/Edges 6.0 vs. Extensis Photoframes? - Adobe Photoshop 7, CS, CS2 & CS3

Could I please have your opinions on which one of these programs are better and why? I would really appreciate your input. Thanks, Cory...

    Hi Cory

In Retrospect, None of them. Both are playing on your inability and knowledge of Photoshop. I've got both, and I regret buying either.

With a little application, and TIME, Time being the opperative word, You can achieve even better than any of the plugins can.

    Believe me I know

Thanks Mark...I am fairly new to PS7, but really want to learn as much about it as possible. It seems to have so many options, and I am willing to put in the time to learn them. Appreciate your insights. Even discounted $149 seems like a lot for "Edges"!

It's not really meant for the "hobbyist" Photoshopper.

Mark is absolutely correct about "TIME" being the operative word. These plug-ins don't do anything you can't do "by hand" in Photoshop, but they can do it FASTER. And FASTER becomes the key word when you are in a production situation.

Personally, I like AutoFx, just because the interface is easy and the previews are fast rendering, but unless you have the extra $$$ to splurge, learn to do the effects through tutorials and experimentation.

Mark is correct you can with enough time create most of what Photo/Graphic
Edges can do. However, I don't see the point is spending 10 times the amount
of time to do something that isn't any better than what a plug-in would do.
You can create drop shadows manually too but why bother when Photoshop can
do it for you faster, easier and with the same results.

That said you really do need to spend the time to learn Photoshop. Once you
know how to create your own frames and stuff then using a plug-in is just
fine. But, for the learning and creative aspect it never hurts to know how
to do something incase you can't find what you need in a plug-in.

As for which is better I think AutoFX has the better plug-in. I have both
AutoFX and the Extensis one. The Extensis one is basic and about 3 versions
behind in features compared to AutoFX. AutoFX also allows for a lot more
    creative freedom than Extensis does.

While I agree with the statements about creativity and craftsmanship being
a better solution, to answer your question I'll simply state that the Auto
FX collection is HUGE! It comes on 3 CDROMS, and I believe they have more
    on the website.
