    Default Auto page-numbering wierdness

I have a book I'm trying to put together with auto page numbering. (ID
    2.0.2)

I started these docs assuming manual numbering, and switched to auto this
morning. As I build the book, there are two problems. Here's my book
    display:

    Intro i-x
    Ch 01 1-46
    Ch 02 1-10
    Ch 03 1-42
    Ch 04 1-38

    The pages are actually numbered:
    Intro i-x
    Ch 01 1-46
    Ch 02 47-56
    Ch 03 11-52
    Ch 04 43-80

What's up with Chap 3? The auto page numbering button is checked on all the
docs, I resaved, opened a new book, did it again on another machine, no joy.

Messing around with any old chapter anywhere...it's always the third doc
that goes nuts. This is insane.

Add this to the "Delete the Preferences" list. Four hours wasted on a
    programming bug.

Do you mean you have fixed the problem by deleting your preferences?

That is a fair question, but yes, I just about wore the letters off that
    one. :-)

As I'm replying here...I'm adding index entries and after about seven...ID
just vanishes. Crash-arino. And the index, along with a dozen entries, is
    now completely corrupted.

And now my author send me garbage. Where's the beer?
