"Auto Select layer keyboard" shortcut? - Adobe Photoshop Mac CS, CS2 & CS3

Does anyone know the shortcut keys to turn the auto select layer tool on/off? (not in keyboard shortcuts)...

While the Move tool is active, UNcheck the "Auto Select Layer" box in the Options bar.

There isn't one and, because it's not a Menu item, you can't make an Action.

Do you mean the Command-Control combo to select the layer of the pixels the cursor is over?

Command+Control is what I use; never bothered with the auto-select option. No need for it!

Ctrl+Click does not toggle the option but it does allow you to move things around as if auto-select was turned off.

Using the Move Tool, or if you hold down a Ctrl button to bring up the temporary Move Tool, right click on a pixel in a layer to bring up a pop up context menu. You can choose what layer you want to select. In a sense this is better than the Auto-select because, one, you can do it on the fly, and two, you can select the exact layer you want to work with.
