AutoCad DXF import fails in CS

Illlustrator 10 can open a .DXF file that Illustrator CS cannot. (...unkown format and cannot be opened)Why can AI10 open a file CS cannot?

I noticed that Illustrator 10 has the file DXFImport.aip in Adobe\Illustrator 10\Plug-ins\Illustrator Formats - Standard.

Illustrator CS has the file "Reader For DXF.smrd" in Adobe\Illustrator CS\Plug-ins\Illustrator Formats.

running XP SP1
1 GB RAM

Seems to qork for me. Exporting the ill file to Photoshop is a whole nother story!

Hi Bill,

I also recognized that the DXF/DWG-Importer in AI CS is very bad compared to AI 10. No update is avail for CS that solve this (an some other bugs sendet to Adobe).

Send your bug-report to <http://www.adobe.com/misc/bugreport.html> or (if you are a ASN-Member) to the email you've get when registering as ASN-Member.

Let's hope, if enough user send there bug-reports, we can get a Bug-Fixed-Version.
