Automate Wedding "Save the Date" cards? - Adobe Illustrator Windows

I need to create a batch of 300 "save the date" cards that each will have a diffrent address on each hopefully from a Access or Excel file. Will also have a photo on each..and may be other variable elements. any tutorials on how to use Variables in CS2 to do something like this? i think i get on the XML part...as usual...i am a graphics person...so html, xml really doesn't go well with me. : )...

If you have InDesign, that might be the better option, especially if you're willing to turf the variable photographs.

Save the cars, sans names and addresses, and place that into a new InDesign file. Do this on a master page, and add add trim marks.

Add a text field for name and other stuff, on its own layer, also on the master page, but in position relative to the imported artwork.

Duplicate the text fields and card artowrk to fill the page. Next, link all those empty name fields together.

When you import ther names as a text file, they'll flow from card to card. Formatting should be simple because an Edit > Select All will select all the text for easy global formatting.
