Automated Installation of Contribute 3

Is there a way to automate the installation of Contribute 3 to the point where
I can specify a license within an mst or something equivalent so that a serial
number does not have to be entered post-installation by the user or a
technician? Preferably without creating my own MSI package with a 3rd Party
app.

Please inform if you have any information on this!

Nicole,

Macromedia claims you can extend the Contribute .msi but you need a third
party app like Install Shield. My tech's tried the same thing you are, and they
could not automate the license number and had to do individual installs. This
does not mean it can't be done here are some links that might help. The first
two are to Contribute documentation. The third links is to a cool article that
shows some cool thing that you can extend without third party app and it works
great! Hope this helps.

I actually ended up making a script that installs contribute silently via the
MSI then copies down the license files that I was finally able to locate. It
was good to get verification that I would have needed to use another app
packaging program, though, because that was a route that I didn't want to go
(seeming as the MSI doesn't contain information about the seril number, so it
would have been a painful registry capture kind of deal).
